Chart tools layout tab missing

Creating a new chart and selecting an option from the Quick Layout menu, then referencing a pivot table will result in what I want. I have the 16.12 version and the Layout tab is still missing from the Chart Tools in the ribbon. (Design and Format are present.) Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you! CJ.
